How do I get snow chains for my rental car?
I'm flying to SF and planning to rent a mid size care and drive to Yosemite....I've asked budget rent a car how do I get chains in case it snows and the guy replied I don't need it because the tires are all weather tires. I'm like.....huh?
Is this true? I don't need chains because the tires are all weather?
So where do I get chains?

NPS has a great website about chain controls for Yosemite:
Because conditions can change rapidly and affect each vehicle differently - the moment you pass by a "chains required" sign, you are REQUIRED BY LAW to have snow chains in you vehicle, even if you may not need them at that moment.
All weather tires will only be legally valid in R-1 conditions (tire chains or snow tires required). If snow conditions worsen, you would be required to have them on (unless you car has four-wheel drive).
Just because you may not be wearing chains does not mean you should still drive very carefully! Slcik conditions can come up VERY unexpectedly.
Numerous businesses outside the park in regional communities rent chains. Be aware that this may invalidate your rental car insurance (different rules for different companies).
Finally, the above is all dependent on when you are coming. Sometime around April-May, chain signs are pulled, and any open road requires no chains for the rest of the summer (unless a freak storm rolls through)

Snow season is winding down in California. It's highly unlikely that you will need tire chains to visit Yosemite National Park, but you can find tire chains at almost any auto parts store along the way. Some stores will even offer you a deal where they will buy them back at the end of your trip if you don't use them.

This is really a nice and interesting post to read for..thanks a lot for the information
